This book is a small, one-of-a-kind folded book with watercolored, cut, interlocking layers. Industrial fabric dyes on mould-made watercolor paper with collage elements on front and back paste downs, colorful strings and tassels and bird house spine topper. Paul tells us, "since 2009 most of my unique pop-up pieces have been made without folds. I use several different types of paper hinges—including dovetails. Each work can be taken to pieces, units changed or damaged sections replaced. The spring action of folded paper is therefore eliminated. The pop-ups open easily and fold flatter than more conventional construction methods."
